Goodbye Feb, Hello March

2 months down, a recap on where I am for my 2013 goals.
First - my PhD is coming down to crunch time. In order to make the May graduation, I need to have my dissertation complete and defended by mid April. I have a dissertation defense date of 4 April. That means I have to have it complete and to my committee 2 weeks before that. The defense is an hour long presentation followed by Q&A. Then the committee gives me a thumbs up or says that I need to do some more work. After that meeting, I will have about 10 days to get the corrections done and submit the final copy to the grad school. If I miss the April deadline, I will still finish, but I won't graduate in the may commencement. But, I am staying focused on making the April deadline! I just submitted a chapter draft to my adviser, I have one more chapter to finish up then stitch everything together. It is coming together, I should be able to make it.
Second - Exercise is helping me keep my sanity while writing. I logged 96 running miles and 8 swimming miles, bringing my 2013 total to 196 running and 25 swimming. Included in the running was the Jones 10 miler race in Amherst which was fun. Now that the snow is starting to melt and the weather is getting nicer, I am looking forward to getting more weekend runs with the kids in the jogger again.
Third - This morning I was at 179 lbs. Jan 1: 181, Feb 1: 180. So, I am slowly moving in the right direction. Long term goal is still 170. Not in a hurry, but I am getting there.
March focus - research and writing, continue fitness.
