*&$%@! Spark.

I just spent 45 minutes writing a blog, and Spark ate it. I could cry.

But I won't.

I'll try to replicate it somewhat...

And So It Begins...

Thanks to evyone who commented on the last blog. I haven't had a chance to respond to everyone who commented on my last blog, but I want to thank you all. I really appreciate everyone who takes time out of their busy day to offer some encouragement. It may not seem like much, but it really does matter.

Quick synopsis of last blog: I've gained about 15 pounds. My pants didn't fit for the first time last week, and I'm freaking out.

Starting tomorrow, I'm going to make some changes. (I'm on a business trip right now.)

The Plan

emoticon Purge the junk food and sweets from the house.

emoticon Get some fresh fruits and veggies, along with some lean protein.

emoticon Journal and/or blog daily.

emoticon Track my fitness. I haven't set a specific goal, for the month, but I want to get a clear baseline for improvement in April.

emoticon Stay hydrated. For me, if this doesn't happen, nothing else works.

emoticon My "support group" hasn't been very supportive lately. We're all struggling. I need to work with this group to get out of this negative spiral or find a new more positive group. Complaining about weight gain over a cheesy mexican dinner a couple of times a month isn't the strongest strategy.

I've set a modest weight loss goal of two to five pounds for the month. Just to get moving in the right direction again. I don't like to blog just for the sake of blogging, but I will be around more often this month.

If you have any other ideas or suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them.

Much love. Much luck to you all this month.

Your list if goals is awesome!

I'm working on getting back on track and learning it takes time and makes me frustrated at times...but baby steps is better then nothing at all.

I think you've set out a great plan. One thing that works for me is a special non- food treat as I meet short term goals. These can be low or no cost items, but it really motivates me. A successful day on my food choices= hot, bubble bath. A workout on a day I was inclined to skip it = a foot massage. Meeting my workout goal for the week = a opulent of new workout songs from iTunes.

I hope you can get your support group to refocus. If not, I wish ou the strength to move on.

good luck! i, too, do not keep sweets, etc. around the house, but sometimes after dinner i am just dying for something sweet.....i bought a bag of hard cinnamon candies.....i am not fond of cinnamon in any form, so this determines how desperate i am for something sweet....true desperation and i will eat one.........and i keep them on a shelf high above natural sight levels, so if i don't see them i am less tempted to give in to their seductive callings......in fact, most times i forget they are there....i have been working on this bag since early december and its more than half full, so you can see i don't give in too much.......instead i keep oranges in the refrigerator ....a cold sliced orange is healthier and usually hits the spot...... emoticon

Ekk! I put on 2 pounds last month and I was real upset about it but I wasn't really doing anything to help myself. Now I'm trying to get on track again and purchased the Noom app (it makes me feel like I'm cheating on SP but I know that they just want me to be successful so whatever it takes!) I am on day 2 right now. It is similar to SparkCoach but it is an app and for me that is just a way better option then getting on the computer to do all they want. Maybe you could up your walking? or start a new routine to keep things fresh? The support group thing is hard. Part of me wants to get one by me and the other side of me doesn't because I know if they start a bad habit I am likely to pick it up. Sorry I wasn't much help! Glad you are setting your plans for March... You can do it!

I like your plan. Now that it is light later. I want to fit in some late afternoon walks. Stay on track, and you'll be back in no time.
