Encouraging words from one my friends
Friday, March 01, 2013
On Facebook yesterday one of my friends posted something that really encouraged me to get up off of my butt and take better care of myself and even EXERCISE! And the thing that struck me about it, about the way I felt motivated, was that for the first time it felt positive. I wasn't beating myself up....it was actually out of love that I felt compelled to exercise and I definitely felt surrounded by love and compassion driving me to finish my work-out. Though it wasn't a long work-out, when I finished, I felt good but more than that I want to keep doing this. I want to maintain my body better and I know that our loving Father wants me to also. I felt so much more energy yesterday and I knew it was because I got more sleep and chose to exercise that day.
This is my friend's post:
"God so clearly speaks to us in His Word and through His Spirit. God so passionately wants us to choose Him - His Way, His Truth, His Life, His Love, His Light, His Hope, His Freedom. Yet, sadly we too often choose our own self-focused ways and our own version of truth and our own self-centered lifestyles.
"This is what the LORD says:
'Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, 'We will not walk in it.' " - Jeremiah 6:16
"This is what the Sovereign LORD,
the Holy One of Israel, says:
'In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.' " - Isaiah 30:15
"This is what the LORD says
- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
'I am the LORD your God,
who teaches you what is best for you
who directs you in the way you should go.
If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your righteousness like the waves of the sea.' "
- Isaiah 48:17-18
.....God has so much more for us if only we would choose Him...and choose to let Him lead us by His Love, Truth and Wisdom - IN EVERY THOUGHT, WORD, ACTION, AND INTERACTION!"
