All of life has to be a balance between
• Work and play
• Rest and movement
• Alone and with friends
• Talking and listening
Today I can also add being connected through the internet, and being unconnected.
Several times each day, I check my email, SparkMail and my Facebook accounts. I love to write, and I love the responses that people give me to my blogs.
Still, every person needs to take time to step away-away from computer, their friends, the online drama. Lent is a great time to listen, remember and reflect on my life, on my friends and on the Word of God, the Bible.
Today I will be taking time to bring balance through quiet time in the Maine Woods. My husband and I will snow shoe in to a Maine Hut, and spend the night. There’s no tv, no internet and fewer distractions. This is what I need.
I know that I could do the same thing at home. I could unplug my phone, stay out of the office, let the housework wait, but it would not be the same. The change of environment really adds to the ability to disconnect from my life for a time.
How do you find balance in your life?

Great blog! Some days I go technology-free and read or take a long walk on the beach to reflect on life and my spiritual well-being.

I hope you have a wonderful time getting away. for sure it is so vital to "unplug" and meditate, contemplate, think.

I try to take at least 15 minutes ME time each day. Whether it be reading something inspiration, the Bible, poetry. . . just something to help keep me focused, positive, energized.

Great blog (as always!)

Balance starts with creating "me" time. As you are doing, your "me" time takes you away from ALL your daily stimuli. Mine simply changes the routines and frees me of those daily tasks that tend to consume us.

Enjoy a wonderful woodsy weekend, Jackie!
