I think my body hates me...everything is painful...

During body combat, my knees/ankles cracked so hard (at the same time) that I everyone looked to see what I broke...

That being said, I understand some of my pains...my shoulders and arms hurt from the punching...my back from the upper hooks (maybe the wrong name?), my abs from the core training...

I also know why my knees hurt...I tore the lining in my knee a good ten years ago...I was too young to understand rehab and what not, so for a good time, I was favoring my good knee....so both knees have always hurt...but since my surgery on my knee a w years ago, it has aggravated the pain I used to feel...then top off with all the cardio that I am doing, my poor knees can't catch a break...plus now that I am waitressing, I'll be lucky if I can walk come April...I suppose this will always be a pain I will have..but I am going to try to strengthen my poor crumpled body..especially my knees come spring with some bike riding..but I'll work on that when I can...

That being said, I have another weird pain that I need help with..I don't know how to search it online because I don't know what is really hurting...in body combat, we do these side kicks and back kicks...the muscles on the back of my legs are killing me...whatever it is, it feels like someone pulled it as tight as possible...it's not the whole muscle..it's like right behind my knees and just a teensy bit above them....is that where your hamstring connects to something? Am I even in the right muscle group? I need to know what it is to learn how to fix it...it doesn't hurt all the time, kinda reminds me of a Charlie horse feeling except it's usually only when I work out...sometimes in the kicks, it feels like there is a string that connects my foot to my hip/back and it just shoots with electric for a second....goodness, did that even make sense?

If anyone can help...I'd appreciate it...

    Make sure you warm up and then stretch real good, not sure what that could be. I had a Baker's cyst for awhile right behind my knee, apparently comes from knee problems (mine was torn meniscus). I am taking glucosamine and chondroitin after my knee surgery, it really seems to help me, although I know it doesn't help everyone. Also wear an ace brace. If it keeps up, maybe you should get it checked out. And if it is just the body combat bothering you maybe stick to Zumba, running, etc. I am convinced some of these things arent really that great for us. I used to do this Firm video that caused me horrible neck problems...cut that short right away.

    Ouch! Are you sure you should be doing all this? I'd hate for you to be aggravating an injury. That said, when kicking, be sure to use proper form. Ask the instructor for advice. Good luck and I hope your knee heals.
