How Am I Doing? February's Done!

Last day of the month...so I thought doing a "February in review" post would be a good idea.

This has definitely been my month of "getting back on track." I'm relieved to feel like I truly am back on track with SP. Many streaks are in place, weight is dropping, cravings are lessening, goals are increasing...I've definitely got my spark back. Now, I just need to keep fueling the flame!

February in review:

My "back on track" run began on 2/15/13.

Weight...lowest...187.6 on 2/6/13; highest...196.8 on 2/15/13; current...189.8; so while it appears that I gained weight over the course of the month...2.2 lbs (and overall, I have), I also lost weight...7 lbs over the last two weeks. That has been during my "back on track" time. Hooray!

Sleep...I have been striving to get 8 hrs (at least) of sleep per night. I have not tracked my sleep, but it seems like I have probably hit this goal about 95% of the time.

Recording meals...Recorded 19 out of 28 days. Recorded all days from February 15-28. Of the days that I recorded, I ate in range 15 of the 19 recorded days. Since going "back on track", all but one of the days have been in range.

Motivation...I have stayed motivated with SP...doing SparkCoach daily, blogging daily, and visiting and encouraging SP friends daily. I registered for a 5K in May which has motivated me to begin the C25K program again. I am in the second week of C25K. A dear SP friend is also registered for the 5K and we will be meeting for the first time and running together in May. I am very motivated. I think that emersing myself back into the SP tracking and connecting has made the difference of being able to stay on track.

Tracking...I have not taken updated pictures like I had planned. I have been tracking my weight daily and recording it weekly. I have been tracking my meals and exercise on SP. I am looking forward to getting my Fitbit in the mail soon which will be a new tracking tool for me to see really what energy I am expending...and giving me a benchmark to challenge on a daily basis.

Exercise...As mentioned, I have started back into C25K...my next run is scheduled for tomorrow and will be W2D3. This is an 8-week program which should have me ready to run my 5K in May. I have not initiated a strength training program yet. I would like to do that on the non-run days.

Connecting...I'm connected. I am logging on to SP daily and going through the SparkCoach information for the day and then writing a blog and then visiting and encouraging my SP friends. This makes the difference of me staying on track, also. If I am not "hiding in the shadows," I am less likely to be overeating also. I think that focusing outward on others who are also on this journey really helps to distract me from myself so that I do not get too inwardly focused and it encourages me to see others making progress and working toward the same goals as I am...or who have arrived and are "living the life."

I based my review on the blog I had written on 2/16/13 where I outlined 7 things that I thought I should do to have a "successful run" and quit the yo-yo success/failure that I was experiencing for awhile. It's been two weeks; and it is working. I'm on track...I'm losing weight...I'm eating in a controlled manner...I am not binge eating...I am exercising...I'm setting healthy goals...I'm connecting...I'm SPARKED! Woo hoo!
