Lucky Me!

Thursday, February 28, 2013

A few weeks ago I went to see my regular eye doctor. I had noticed my vision was not as good lately and I was getting concerned. After the exam Dr. Miller told me he couldn't help me with glasses and suggested I had cataracts that needed surgery.

Today I went to the specialist and after all the testing, dilation , etc. the doctor said he thought I might get by with doing only one. This was my lucky day! We are ,at least, trying only one and if needed we will do the other one a little later.

I think I will celebrate by eating emoticon . emoticon I might get a little hop in my step also!

I have had 2 family members and a co-worker who have had this surgery. My co-worker did hers last year and her biggest comment was that she was amazed at how amazingly beautiful colors were. My family members had there surgeries years ago and I got to watch on close circuit tv - and I am not big into that type of thing but it was pretty cool.

Wow! Glad you're looking on the bright side. That is wonderful that you only need to get the one done. I have been told that later on I will be needing that too. Part of the old aging I guess. Good thing SP is keeping us young physically and young at heart, hey??

Just think'll be able to see the golf ball fly a little after it is done. emoticon
Keep those sun glasses on.

My husband had cataract surgery in Oct. and Nov. It's not as bad as it sounds. They will do 1 eye and a month later they will do the other. Did you know that Medicare will pay for the first pair of glasses? I'm not sure if they will pay for the exam though. My husband can see so well now, that he didn't need a pair of glasses. He has an appointment for 6 months and they will check his eyes again.
