that make life good!

In the last 2 days I've gotten some really nice, unsolicited, compliments from family and acquaintances.

I look/seem thinner to them. I guess my face looks thinner for some reason so they've been asking if I've lost weight. I haven't, but I'll take the compliments anyway! I figure it's a start, even if the scale isn't moving anywhere. :)

I'd like to say it's from exercising and eating better, but I don't think it's true. Not the exercising part anyway. I've only been doing that for the last 2 days, because that's when my back finally started feeling well enough to do anything.
I think it's because I don't drink soda like it's water anymore and because I'm not stressed by my former job or mindlessly eating candy all day from the boredom of it. It's amazing what not being at a lousy job can do for a persons health!

Yeah, yeah, I know I should be all upset about being laid off and worried about money and stuff, but honestly I've been quite content, relaxed and not bored for the last few weeks and I think that's what led to me seeming thinner. And the best part now is .... the patience is paying off. There's some much better jobs that were just listed that I'm going to apply for. And I'm going to see about doing something virtual. The kids really like having me home in the afternoons so I'm going to see if there's anything available in that area as well.

So, in short, my world is definitely getting better - baby step by baby step!

Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement!
I don't hear that sort of stuff very often, except when I look in the mirror, so it is truly appreciated!

A bad job can cause needless eating and emotions off the chart. Glad to hear you got out of it and are looking for something better, good luck! Fitness does a lot for your shape and the types of food you eat also. Keep up the healthy habits!

I read somewhere that stress builds fat around your stomach. I'm glad you're out of your stressful job, even if that brings different struggles.

Treat yourself well, you deserve to be the best you there is

    Thanks, Hakapes!
It's amazing what that feedback can do for your mood isn't it? Especially when it wasn't asked for.

    Liked a lot your check-in!
I also got compliments from friends about my face after some time. Someone said my face looks more toned. I really liked that feedback!

Baby steps are the way to go!

I just wonder, if your post was featured blog post, why aren't there more comments? Crazy!
