making and not making goals

So February has come to an end and March will roar in tomorrow.
The scale says this morning that I did not make my goal, I failed.
As I thought about that I realized I certainly didn't fail. I did not get to the number on the scale that I wanted but I did lose 3.6 pounds ( a success), I did make it thru month 5 smoke free (a success), I did exercise and my stamia has greatly increased (a success).
Sometimes we let the darn scale define us and it doesn't, it doesn't always tell the entire story. So I will continue to watch the scale and I will set my March goals for the number on that scale that I want to hit but the scale won't define me, it will assist me and it will be 1 chain in the link that is my journey to a healthier me.
