Week 30- Home streeeetch!

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Well, here we are- just a few cursory weeks from meeting the little monster...err baby... that has been squeezing my bladder for 7 days on end.

And I couldn't be happier.

Thank you to all you lovely ladies who were so kind and sweet on my last blog. It's super awkward posting pictures of getting fatter- since, well, you know, this is a WEIGHTLOSS blog- but you guys are all so sweet and caring. I appreciate ya'll so very much.

Here's my quick little update this week:

How far along?
30 weeks! Baby is apparently supposed to be 15.7 inches long now, and probably weighs almost 3 pounds. He's been measuring a full week and a half bigger every appointment since our dating scan, so my mommy guess is that he is 3.5 pounds and around 16.5 inches long. Midwife says that it is unlikely he will come early because of his size. And it's not because there is something wrong with me that he is bigger- only that I am 5'11" and well built with a husband who is 6' and well built. Our children have no hope of shortness.

Weight Gain
11 pounds. I am crediting the extra weight gain to my sudden unrelenting craving for milk, ice cream, caramel, and milk bottle sweeties. Sense a theme? I swear I'm taking my calcium supplement too!

Not so much this week. I'm awake from 1 am to about 3 am every night. I sometimes go to sleep for an hour, and wake again at 4, to sleep, and wake again at 6. Last night I tried going to bed really early to counter this awake time, and it helped a bit. I racked up nearly 4 hours of consecutive sleep before my crazy awake time hit.

And all the other moms can vouch for this... can I say holy wacko dreams batman? Last night I dreamed I was protecting my family from guerrilla troops and they shot off my legs. We all got out okay, because I developed monkey arms... Ha! The night before that, my dreams entailed someone from my office nursing my baby, and me carrying her around in a plastic trash bag. I would leave her laying around, and forget where I put her. It didn't seem to bother me that I would lose her, or that I stored her in a trash bag, but I was really upset that my colleague was nursing her. So weird.

It's official. I'm cooked in the brain.

Belly button in or out?
It's almost completely flat when I lay down. When I stand up all the fat makes it an innie again, but it won't be long until it pops! I'm so excited for that moment because 1. I've never had a cute belly button and 2. it really freaks hubby out!

Week recap?
This was was a very good one. Stressful at work due to our financial year end and the final push to clear out, clean up and make things work. Whew. I'm tired just thinking about the next two days and what the new financial year holds! *runs and hides* But on a personal level, I'm feeling very secure in where I am, and truly believe that the obstacles in front of me are conquerable.

Looking Forward to?
I'm seeing the midwife again on Saturday. (already I have to see her every two weeks!). I love hearing how the little guy is growing and hearing his heartbeat is wonderful. 6 weeks until our last scan to confirm positioning and to note anything for the birth. 7 weeks until he is considered full term. 7.5 weeks until my baby shower. {so excited!}

10 weeks until he is at his estimated date of arrival.

11 weeks until I think he will arrive (I have a feeling he will arrive late! My parents wedding anniversary is one week exactly after his due date, and I think it will be that day he chooses to arrive :) )

17 weeks until I hopefully have something that appears to be a waist again. (Lord, please let it return!)

I miss my waist. I really miss my waist.

I literally laughed out loud at your dreams! Thanks for sharing that; I needed a laugh. :)

You seem to be doing so well and your little guy seems to be growing so perfectly! You are truly blessed.

Eleven pounds sounds outstanding! I know you can gain weight like crazy during a pregnancy, but this 11 lbs sounds like it's all baby and things baby needs. You are doing so good!

You are so cute and I am so excited for you as it gets closer. 11 pounds? How outstanding. Especially when you take into consideration all the stuff in there that is baby related that Baby Boops needs, you are such a rockstar. I think when Baby Boops is here you are going to back to your pre pregnancy weight in the blink of an eye. And Baby Boops is going to have a svelte mom who will have her waist back again, I promise. And whoa at the dreams, sounds creepy LOL. emoticon
