I'm way over on my calories for today. What happened?
Well, it may have started with a slightly larger than normal breakfast and a bit heavier than usual lunch.
But the real kicker was that the heavier than normal lunch left me not hungry for my usual afternoon snack -- and by the time I got home from work I was RAVENOUS. And the meatballs and whole wheat noodles I had made for dinner (instead of spinach quiche, by my son's and husband's request) were warm and ready (since they had to eat and run earlier) but there were no veggies ready. Oh, and I had to mostly closet myself in my home office on a conference call so I could dash out and grab food but couldn't prep anything.
Which all added up to way too much spaghetti and meatballs and not much calorie deficit for the day.
And a lesson driven home about why I really, really shouldn't skip that afternoon snack. (And why I should prep my veggies the night before as well as my main dish even though the veggies don't usually take as long to cook.)
