The Time Is Now

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Similar to many other winter semesters, I add some type of swimming class so that I won't gain extra pounds during this dreadful time of year. Well I was in for a treat during this Advanced Swim course. No treat. I was happy about my progress up until the lab and homework assignments included journaling of real-time workouts. I could either create pre-tend workouts or live up to the healthy change in lifestyle I signed off on. Writing down my ideal change in habits was easy. No problem there.

Surprisingly, I had enough guts to walk past the youthful figures who would stop to see me pass by. Thankfully, making the grade, at the time was more important than harping over low esteem issues. Sure I could have went with my first thought: make up your work and wait until the summer time to work out when it will be much warmer.

The moment I decided to make a change in my life, I felt led to make no more excuses. No more blaming my assets on child bearing, physical therapy, no energy, lack of time. Make time for you or no one else will. You can make extra time to pack on make-up, buy a new push up bra, invest in material things that help you feel good for the moment. On the other hand you can make a lifestyle change in the way you eat, sleep, and workout. The time is now.

The time is now to stop ignoring the reflection you see in the mirror. Look at yourself and smile. The only way you will visualize a new you is to write down what you want to change. What size do you want to wear? Where would you go? How would you approach your world differently? Look ahead. See a new you.
