Home was good. I luvs those family peeps. Wish I could have stayed even longer!
Right back into CRAZY WOW AHHH work week when I got back. Literally; I got back at 10pm Monday night and had to be at work at ~7am Tuesday morning. ARRGH.
It's fine. Eh. Food is going okay; I'm in my calorie range this week. Having more of a routine helps. Over the weekend was hit or miss but I'm not stressing about it.
Most importantly, I finally got back in the POOL. POOOOOOL!
I had skipped a few swims back before vacation, because I was just too burned out. Then on vacation, I actually got in a swim (though the pool was wee and short, so mini-laps).
I got in ONE swim last week, but my bad cold prevented me from sticking to my usual schedule. I figured... better not get pneumonia like a stupid.
Two swims so far this week, so here's where I am:
865 actual laps in the 98 foot gym pool, PLUS 49.5 laps in the shortie Florida pool (about 27 & 1/3 gym laps, -ish).
= 87443 feet = 16.56 miles.
AM I GOING TO MAKE IT?!?!?!
It bums me out to admit it, but probably not.
I need 4.4 miles yet. That is 239 laps and change, or 240 laps.
I can swim tonight, and tomorrow night. Neither of the coming mornings, because I have stupid PT both mornings. I can't swim Friday night because I'll be driving to D.C. to run a workshop on Saturday. ARGH.
The hotel has a pool, so I may try to get in a swim there anyway, on Friday night. We'll see.
But since I can't count on that, that's TWO evenings to get in my 240 laps. 120 laps per swim. I have never managed that many; neither endurance wise nor with the gym time restrictions. It's VERY unlikely I'll have 2 uninterrupted hours both nights to swim as many laps as I want. So 21 miles by March 1 is not happening.
I'm still going to finish my 21 miles, we'll just see how many days late I am.
Just pretend everyone is waiting on the beach in France, with the barbecue ready and the corkscrews to open the wine ready to go, like "COME ON ALREADY, WE WANT TO PARRRTY!"
Since I'm a party pooper with this challenge (I pooped my own party!) I'll just spoil the surprise now: In March I'm doing pushups. Some kind of... pushup related challenge. Maybe I'll be smart and take pictures of my gunless wings now, and then at the end of March, BAM! GUNS!
