JESUS CALLING

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

KEEP YOUR EYES ON ME! WAVES OF ADVERSITY ARE WASHING OVER YOU, AND YOU FEEL TEMPTED TO GIVE UP. AS YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES CONSUME MORE AND MORE OF YOUR ATTENTION, YOU ARE LOSING SIGHT OF ME. YET I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, HOLDING YOU BY YOUR RIGHT HAND. I AM FULLY AWARE OF YOUR SITUATION, AND I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO BE TEMPTED BEYOND WHAT YOU ARE ABLE TO BEAR.

YOUR GRAVEST DANGER IS WORRYING ABOUT TOMORROW. IF YOU TRY TO CARRY TOMORROW'S BURDENS TODAY, YOU WILL STAGGER UNDER THE LOAD AND EVENTUALLY FALL FLAT. YOU MUST DISCIPLINE YOURSELF TO LIVE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF TODAY. IT IS IN THE PRESENT MOMENT THAT I WALK CLOSE TO YOU, HELPING YOU CARRY YOUR BURDENS. KEEP YOUR FOCUS ON MY PRESENCE IN THE PRESENT.

YET I AM ALWAYS WITH YOU; YOU HOLD ME BY MY RIGHT HAND. PSALM 73:23

NO TEMPTATION HAS SEIZED YOU EXCEPT WHAT IS COMMON TO MAN. AND GOD IS FAITHFUL AND HE WILL NOT LET YOU BE TEMPTED BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN BEAR. BUT WHEN YOU ARE TEMPTED, HE WILL ALSO PROVIDE A WAY OUT SO YOU CAN STAND UP UNDER IT. 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

After reading this devotion, I felt it went so well with God Calling and wanted to share it with you. As long as we keep our focus on God, He will remain with us holding us close to Him and protecting us from great temptations. "Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world." God can overcome all, there is no one greater. Praise God.
God Bless.

What a blessed reminder, to know that God is always with us, fighting our battles for us before they have even begun. Jesus promised He 'will never leave us', but do we turn to Him the very moment we are tempted, or feel loss or lost? I am thankful I had time today to read your blog, as I am encouraged by them and thank you for posting.

emoticon Blessings on your day and the rest of your week, Joanie Too. emoticon

In the last 3 months of trials I have found more comfort & peace from giving up my burden to Jesus than during the times when things seem to be going smoothly. My youngest (32) daughter was diagnosed in November with a brain tumor. I'm sure you can imagine the fear that ran through me upon hearing this news. However, when I realized there's nothing I can do to take this from her, I knew the only one that could was God so I gave it to Him and have faith he will take care of my baby. She had her surgery the end of November but the tumor has grown back & she is currently undergowing radiation to kill it. She's struggling with facial nerve pain & again...fear could overwhelm me...but God is always in control and I look for the good even in the middle of all the bad. I'm grateful the tumor is benign..I'm grateful she has a good husband to care for her...I'm grateful this has strengthened her faith in God...I'm grateful she has excellent doctors...mostly I'm grateful she is a Christian and is confident in her salvation. We take one day at a time, for that's all we're guaranteed anyway. :-) Thanks for posting this blog ANHELIC.

This one's for me!! I was doing that just the other day-worrying about tomorrow & what will I do etc, until I had myself in such a state that I couldn't sleep. I just started praying and asking God to help me not to be tempted to worry & let Him handle the big things! emoticon emoticon

How we do try to carry tomorrow and also the past with us. Christ promises to be with us today and always. He does not desire that we break under the cares and burdens we cling to.
