4 the love of the cello

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

This was so fun I had to share it with you.

Being a cellist, I can sympathize with those 5 notes that are given to a cellist....way toooo many times in Pachelbel's Canon in D. This piece, being a wedding favorite has had it's share of performances...... emoticon I cannot count the times I have played it....:::::now the other strings have much more interesting parts, but the cellist is bored to tears....LOL! emoticon

Enjoy!! emoticon

I love, love, love cello! (As a listener---I do not play---maybe in heaven!) My bff in high school was a cello player, a tiny petite girl whom others teased about lugging around her larger instrument. (This was in the olden days before kids always drove or got rides to school---she had to bring it on the bus most of the time.) I thought it was a gorgeous piece of equipment. I thought it had the loveliest sound of all the strings.

But I can sympathize with the repetitive notes issue....reminds me of when I played the piano for my sister who played "Pass It On" on the accompaniment was a few parts over and over and over....

I didn't know that -- interesting -- and Pachelbel's Canon in D is one of my favorites. I must have it on at least three CD's. Have a great week!

That was great. Thanks for sharing. I am heading over to iTunes to find that music. Definitely a new and vibrant twist on an old classic.

LOL! Love it, Laura! As a former bassoonist/contra-bassoonist, I can appreciate the boredom that comes with playing the ever-so-dull base lines! emoticon

Loved the video. My daughter played cello in high school. I really miss her orchestra concerts.
