Reality Check Please

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

I will be testing the "airplane seat belt and can I fit into the seat without spilling over" thing this weekend. I'm flying to San Diego to watch my dd play college softball. emoticon emoticon One of my VERY FAVORITE things to do!!!

BUT: I have to say I'm NERVOUS about the trip emoticon Very Weird as I've been traveling and doing this for years.

My intellectual mind knows I've lost 79 lbs and actually fit comfortably in size 16 pants.

My emotional mind remembers all those HORRIBLE feelings about seat squishing, bizarre gymnastic moves required to close the seat belt, embarrassment about brushing against both seats as I walked down the aisle, people's dismayed faces when they realized I was going to sit in the middle seat next to them, tray tables that won't go flat cuz they hit my stomach.... and once, I was just about to board when the desk attendant approached me to talk about buying 2 seats because of my size.

awww Patty I look forward to hearing how your airplane trip went with 79 pounds less of you!!! I am sure it will be one of those amazing NON SCALE VICTORIES...

I can so relate to being so darn uncomfortable in my own body....THAT is one of the main reasons I want to lose this weight once and for all...to just be COMFORTABLE in my own skin and in life...

I hope you don't mind but I added you as a friend ....our starting weights were almost the same...I started in January 2013 at 274 my ALL time high emoticon However through tracking and exercising I am down to 245 right now emoticon

It is such hard work but I am so looking forward to my next airplane ride and YOU my dear have inspired me... emoticon emoticon

WOW so exciting!!!! I can't wait for the day when I can join the rest of the crowd and not brush the seats on both sides of the aisle... Go ahead and celebrate!!! It is a wonderful accomplishment!

You will be smiling from ear-to-ear when you glide down the aisle with your carry-on behind you. You will chuckle when you snap that seatbelt on and PULL the flap to tighten and lastly you will silently (don't make a scene) shed 1 tear when you pull out the tray...I know you will put the traytable down before you take off...Go for it Patty! Enjoy the trip... emoticon

Your comments were a walk down memory lane for me. I bet you will sail through the trip without any of those things happening to you. Only problem I had on my last flight was the yahoo in front of me who went into immediate full recline the minute we took off. I couldn't use my tray table except at meals when she grudgingly put her seat up at the attendant's insistence (don't get me started).
Enjoy your flight and watching your daughter's game.

You'll be sliding right into that seat and all of those past, insensitive, inappropriate comments will be a distant memory. Great job on all of your efforts!
