yup, my Sensei tell us this all the time. the answer to doing karate (or in this case, getting fit) is simple... eat healthy, exercise and have a positive attitude. but it is NOT easy! and heck, if it WAS easy, EVERYone would be fit, right? just like in karate, there are not many black belts for a reason... it is not easy! you have to train, train, and train. but not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. when i first started i thought there was no way i could ever become a black belt! i was gonna be happy with getting to an orange belt! but i stuck with it. and goodness, sometimes i wanted to quit so bad. but you know what? i wanted my black belt more than i wanted to quit. that is what i need to remember. and after literally after "blood, sweat and tears" i did get it. and it was worth it.
at any time, i just could have gone to a different dojo (karate training place) that basically "gives" you your belt, you just gotta pay for it, but i wanted to EARN it. sometimes i would just love to go to a liposuction place and just get it all sucked out. and although this might help some people, i know that i hafta put in the "blood, sweat and tears" again and get it done. nothing worth having ever comes easy, right?
so i guess this is wear i say to myself, suck it up, buttercup, it will be worth it...
