Tired or Not

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

I woke up way too early. I even thought it was time to get up and did, only to find out it was the middle of the night. Oh, well. At 5am I went running on my street with a flashlight. Might as well. I was up. Tired days can be difficult for me. Tired days are often hungry days.

I'm glad I ran already. It is a definite signal to myself and others that I'm not giving up -- that I am still seeking fitness. Must admit I've been struggling with eating not exactly like I want the last couple days. Since I already ran, I feel successful and plan to carry that success with me throughout the day, tired or not!!

That's true what dmeyer4 says---it is cool to be up and about when no one else is.

Hope you're not coming down with something.....

I do better with food choices when I get some exercise in early. That said, I vote for a nap if you can find the time. It's about balance and your body needs the R & R. Enjoy your day!

I hate when that happens. And I really hate feeling tired. I too think more and more about bad food choices when I am tired....why is it that when we are tired our bodies crave crap? I know you have such a busy life with the granddaughters but try and get a nap in....that helps.
And good for you getting out early and getting the run in.
Have a terrific day.

Good luck getting through the day. I know its hard when you are lacking a good nights sleep . Those days I tend to want junk to give me that pick me up. Can you throw in a nap today? Might help get through.

I too have a much more difficult time when I am low on sleep. Drink a lot of water and maybe fiber to help you feel fuller. I generally eat for energy when I am tired so maybe focus on protein too. Also, have a solid plan to get to sleep early and remind yourself that you can and will hang in there (knowing you are going to go to bed early tonight). HUGS to you.

YOU got this!

It's when I'm tired that I often lose control in the nutrition department too: and I not infrequently have sleepless or sleep-interrrupted nights (with busy days anyhow). I try to think of sleep interruption as perfectly normal "polyphasic sleeping" rather than problematic "insomnia": and it sometimes helps . . .

Good job, Marsha. Oh, I found the coolest ASICS running hat with highpowered LED lights, perfect for night running, at Sports Authority. I'm getting them for D & me!

Good for you for getting your run in early!! I've discovered that I am LESS likely to make poor food choices IF I've completed a STRONG workout... it's a mental thing, but it works!

Enjoy your day!

Now that's the way to use the pre-dawn hours productively. I've never been able to run in the dark.

great job. keep up the good work. At 4:30 am I was shoveling snow so I could go to work. About 5 inches but very wet and heavy. I love t0 do any exercise in the morning and I really did not mind shoveling. It felt great to be out in the morning with no one around but the great outdoors. hope you have a great day and I hope food choices are wise.
