Spark Groups

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

When I first joined Sparkpeople, I joined a few groups, but didn't participate in them much. I joined based on where I lived, the ages of my children and when I joined Sparkpeople (Class of...group). I was a sporadic Sparkpeople user as best, and just didn't see the need to socialize much in these groups. I'm somewhat shy, and didn't really know what to talk about.

Fast forward a few years. I am back to Sparkpeople and a much more active user this time around. I started poking around in groups and found a few that I really liked. I hesitantly joined a challenge. I was so worried I would get overwhelmed with it, or worse yet, bored.

I will happily admit, I was so very wrong! Spark Groups have been amazing! I have found a support system I never dreamt was possible. I have found people that are facing the same struggles and fears that I am. That have the same questions. That have the answers! I have found people that will gently push me along. They are encouraging, kind, supportive - in a word, they are amazing.

Thank you to my Spark Groups - particularly the 100+ Club (White Hawks Team) and the 5% Challenge Group (Cats Team). And a very special thank you to the Aspire and Inspire Group. You were the first group I joined that I really participated in. You ladies welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I had been friends with you all for years.

You people have helped me in a way I can never possibly thank you enough for.

emoticon blog. I was the same way when I first joined Spark. I joined a few teams, but never joined any challenges or really participated. Like you, I have found that participation is awesome and helps us in so many ways. I'm glad you persisted and are seeing success and enjoying your spark time! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yes I can agree I check in daily with the girlies team. I wish it was a little more active but at least it allows me to have a conversation with those who do know my journey
I am also thrilled that my Zumba instructor has a FB weight loss challenge group. My local spark teams don't do much for me. But checking in with the gals that I actually see and workout with has been great.
