Would Like to do a 5K

I got my exercise in early today and I did an extra 25 minutes. Then this evening I played Just Dance 4 with my daughter for 48 minutes. I could have kept going but she was tired out emoticon

So an old friend of mine posted on Facebook that she wants to do a Mud Run 5K in May and she is looking for girls to join her. I am very interested in doing it. It looks like a lot of fun. Who knows, maybe this could lead to me doing more of them.

So I did a quick search on SP and found a few different training programs for it. I feel like the Rookie Training Program would be the best for me.

But can I do it? I have never been a runner. Do I have the endurance and ability to even attempt the program? I guess I will have to think hard about this.

If anyone has any experience with this or has even be successful I would love to hear your story.

    That's great that you have such energy. I did a few 5 K's, they were fun for me. I only stopped because the arthritis in my knee was hurting too bad. One can lead to two and more. You don't have to run the whole way, you can walk as needed. Some people actually walk them. Even though its kind of a race, it is mostly a race within your self. Unless you are very competitive and think you can outrun everyone.
There are many c25k programs out there. Find one and try it. It is easier than you might think. Good luck and most of all... Have Fun!
