going one step backwards....

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Sometimes my 11 year old's whining, and intense perfectionism gets to seems to demand chocolate to cope with him on my part. Sometimes I even feed chocolate to him (joking that I need to put him out of my misery). He tries so hard, but things just don't match up with the pictures in his brain. I have to stay extra calm, get him to laugh, and purposely help him make things not perfect to try to break his perfectionistic streaks. It is very challenging at times to have a child like this, and he's my second child to have behaviors like this. I lived through his oldest brother, and that child is turning out to be okay...actually he's turning out to be I just need to get through this one more time....without gaining extra pounds trying to parent by chocolate.

I understand. I guess all we can do is love them and try to help them to deal with their issues. Oh and haven't you heard, dark chocolate is good for you! LOL
