Getting back in the swing!

I must confess, after two weeks of barely moving my body I was starting to wonder whether I had just run out of steam and was simply not pushing myself hard enough.

Well, three days back in the swing of things and no, I was not faking it. I simply couldn't do it. The difference is incredible. Last week I tried to take a brisk walk and just barely broke 3 mph. Last night I jogged for 4 minutes straight and then continued at 3.6 mph for another 15 minutes (and then was interrupted). Okay, that's not going to get me to a 5K anytime soon, but I don't run! Last week I tried to do the 10 minute cardio kickboxing workout and had to stop halfway through. Tonight I did the cardio kickboxing followed by the Bollywood dance routine and then looked for a strength training video.

Again, not hard core exercise, I understand. But the feeling of being able to work myself into a sweat and still be able to breathe! And move! I guess it's a good thing to get sick once in a while because I appreciate my body so much more when it's healthy again. Thank Gd it's only once in a very long while.

    So glad you are feeling better. I know exactly what you are talking about. This is my 4th time being sick since November or December (can't remember). Kids bringing crud home, co-workers sick at work, who knows where it came from. I have barely worked out this entire winter. I hope to really be healthy and get back into things soon. Next week is Spring Break here in Southern Utah. I want to get up in the mountains and get some hiking in. I need my lungs for that. (lol)

    Oh it's amazing what bodies can do when we feel well! Glad you are feeling better and getting back in the swing of things.
