My upper back really hurts. I don't know if it is because of all the time I had to spend on the computer and I wasn't sitting up straight. It could be because of the lack of disc in my neck. It could be because I moved funny or it could be because of all the dampness and storms coming in.

I am frustrated. I really want to ride. It seems like this winter has been horrible for riding. Either it has been too cold, I have had to work, or my neck or back has blown it for me. I am very impatient at this point. I know the smart thing to do would be to rest it for a couple of days, stay off the computer as much as possible and stay out of the dampness. I don't have the patience for that. I am not a patient person!

I don't know what to do. I really want to go see JC, but my body tells me that would be a really stupid thing to do with my history of back problems.

I have thought of calling my orthopod, but I get the feeling that he will say it is related to the lack of disc in my neck and have me go for the Epidural Block which I really don't want to do.

My exercise consisted of a whopping 20 minute walk yesterday ugh! I am definitely not a happy camper! emoticon

Sounds as if you want to know for sure what's causing it, so why not stop speculating and just call your Dr. ? You'll feel better just knowing what to do to get better. Good luck! We appreciate whatever you're able to do in the challenge. It's to your credit that you didn't just lie in bed. :)

You can only do what you can. We need to look after our bodies too. You will be back riding soon!

I can understand your frustration but I think your judgement is right in saying that it would not be a good for you to ride right now. I think you would gain benefits just from visiting with JC, as "the outside of a horse......." You know the rest!

Hope your back feels better soon! emoticon

I know how you feel I get those days (like when I couldn't ride that recumbent Bike due to my knee problems), where I wonder if my body will ever get better or lose all this fat! UGH! I have a bad back and neck too and go to the Chiropractor off and on to help with that. Today is one of those rest days after I went to him yesterday. I suppose chiropractic is out for you since you have the disc problem-but, you never know they might be able to?
Why not just go and see JC and give him a carrot or two and let him know you are there, take a walk while leading him maybe. Animals always help us mentally just by petting them even!
We have days where we can't exercise, so don't beat yourself up over it! I feel any type of movement I do is better than nothing. It doesn't have to be a cardio blast every time!
The computer work can get to your upper back and neck- I used to do 8 hours a day on a computer when I worked and I would get in so much pain. That is when I started back to Chiropractic and it helped immensely with that and have kept up with it ever since. Hope you feel better after some down time. Although I do know from what you said real estate doesn't give you too much of a break. Hang in there! emoticon

I hope you feel better soon. I can't completely relate, but I have lumbar issues and sometimes it gets aggrivated with rigorous exercise or horrible posture. My chiro made me buy a special foam to use once or twice a week to lay on to correct the problem at home.

20 minutes of walking is better than zero minutes of any kind of healthy activity. Good for you!
