Mixed Emotions

Monday, February 25, 2013

Yesterday, I found a 100 bill laying on the ground...woohoo!! I didn't tell my hubby!! LOL Instead, I paid off a bill with it. I put the receipt on his bedside table. He asked about it, then I told him about it.

He asked me why I didn't ask who's it was. I was in a parking lot, literally nobody around. Who would I ask? Should I have left it? I didn't just blow the money on a selfish thing, I paid a bill off. My hubby is an officer by the way.

What would you do in this scenario?

Game Plan:
Up early to shovel
take son to work...hopefully not!
Insanity work out
Big Breakfast
finish up my taxes and get them sent electronically
chores...find something to do
pick up Fabian...ugh!
Insanity work out #2 with Fabian
Turkey Chili
Movie and Popcorn with the family

1. Paid off a bill
2. Fixed brake light on car!!
3. Cleaned out my car!!
4. Ready for bed!!!!

You did the only thing you could do under the circumstances. If someone had also been in the parking lot looking as if they had lost something, then that would have been a different story. Maybe it was a God thing and you were meant to receive it to get that bill paid off. Who knows???

Sounds like you made the best decision.

If it was in a parking lot, the "owner" could have been long gone. So I think I would have done the same thing as you.

I would probably have made a similar decision. If it's a wallet with money in it, I'll hand it in.. no questions asked. If there was some way of identifying whose it was, I'd get it to them. The way I see it, is that if you would have handed it in, it probably would have been claimed by someone else that it didn't belong to either. It sucks for the person who loses the money but you can't guarantee that it makes it back to that person. Hard decision to make for sure!
