SO, My Chihuahua is afraid of bad weather. We lived on Whidbey Island, Washington for the past four years and did not have to worry about thunderstorms. The only time he would get really spastic was New Years Eve and the 4th of July when people would shoot off fireworks.
We recently moved to Pensacola, Florida and the heavy rain has caused me to miss a few nights sleep due to his anxiety attacks. Last night we had some very loud thunder and lightening and he kept me awake all night long. He has some prescription medicine that usually takes care of his nervousness but did not seem to phase him last night. He was panting and shaking and scratching and wining. Ugh! It was the worst has has ever been.
Today I went to the pet store and bought him a Thundershirt and to my disbelief that it would work, I am very surprised already. It has been raining and even some thunder and he has not seemed phased at all by the noise. I do not know if he is just so tired from not sleeping last night or it the thing is actually helping him.
He is like a different dog. I am excited that I might get a good nights sleep. WooHoo!

I hope it works! My lab mix is the same way and crawls under the bed and then gets stuck....or actually climbs on top of us in the middle of the night. She tried climbing on my head one time! Please, keep us updated. I am very interested to see if it works!
