I DO Realize that our weather is Not Nearly as severe as what many of you are dealing with this week! But it still amazes me that it can change SO Drastically in 24 hours!!
Yesterday afternoon I walked at the Park, and all I needed was a Sweater and a Hat. I would not have even needed the Sweater if it hadn't been so windy. It was 63 degrees.
This morning when I left for work, it was down 30 degrees and RAINING. I was running late anyhow and as I approached a busy intersection, the light changed as I was approaching getting ready to make a right turn. I did Yield -- Just Barely! -- and then because a car was approaching in the right lane, I moved immediately into the Center Lane as I made the turn. Problem with that? I DIDN'T see the Oklahoma City Police Car approaching in the Center Lane!!
The Red-Blue Flashy Lights are NOT as Pretty when they are in YOUR Rear View Mirror. Especially when you know that you just did something REALLY Stupid!! He was VERY Nice, though. Scolded me and reminded me that I need to stay in the Right Lane when I make a Right Turn (normally I do!!).
Because of the dropping temperatures and Blizzard Forecast, I took off work an hour Early. I ate Lunch, came home, Triple Checked the Forecast, then went to the Gym.
I figured the Gym would be dead due to the Weather, but it was actually pretty busy. As I told one of the other members "I don't know if we are 'Dedicated' or 'Obsessed'". By the time I finished my 30 minutes on the Treadmill, the rain had changed to Sleet! The car was almost covered by the stuff!!
The temperature was down to 33 (it was 63 degrees exactly 24 hours earlier!!) and I took the "Long Way" home to avoid the heavy traffic area in front of Wal-Mart and McDonalds. I was VERY careful, and the car is DEFINITELY parked for the night.
Hopefully the Blizzard won't be too bad and Gary and I can walk to 7-11 later for my Bedtime Coffee!! Today will be 679 Days in a Row that we have walked for At Least 10 minutes, usually longer than that!
