This weekend I went away with the church youth group. It was the first time I've really put my new eating and activity plan to the test.
There was plenty of walking, and we were on the 5th floor . I took the stairs anytime I could -I had 24 floors one day.
I made *healthier* choices than I would have 2 months ago. Stopped when I was full but I grazed and mindlessly ate candy/snack food.
The hardest part was not drinking my water-I wanted to made the 5 + hour drive without having to stop sooooo much. And then we sat in conference alot and I didn't want to be getting up every 5 minutes. So I didn't sip on my water. ..I missed it ALOT and I believe (more than ever) that drinking 8-10 glasses a day has been a huge part of my success.
Without my water, and checking in on SP.... it was easy to fall back into old habits. Yesterday was the worst for eating and I was SURE I would see a significant gain.
I was surprised to see that the scale was only up by a half pound.
Obviously happy about that. Today I jumped back into my routine and I'm ready to press on.
As you may know I'm trying to look at my weight loss as a research project. Observations from this weekend
--mindless eating begets mindless eating!
---eating too many of those treats made me feel pretty yuck! (especially bloated)
---SP is vital to success
--I need all of that water!
---My stamina has improved greatly
---The FitBit is AWESOME!
----Things I CHOSE not to eat: ice cream, alot MORE candy than I had, Krispy Kreme fried pies, hardees biscuits and more.
Today I walked at a beautiful state park near our home-2 miles.
OH-My Feb goals--on track for all!
