Ugh....my eating has been OUT OF CONTROL. Particularly with sweets. I never recovered after the holidays I guess.Over the weekend I ate out THREE times and never anything even slightly healthy and always really high sodium along with one frozen high sodium meal, I gained about 5 pounds just in fluid retention. The stress on my systems is starting to show. Not just in weight gain, but water retention and fatigue. My engine is clogged. Yesterday started the changes. I finally got back to drinking enough water for a day. I saved my soda cup and straw and lid from Carl's Jr and am using it for water. It's a mental thing for now :). My brain sees that cup and thinks it is getting a special treat which is just water with ice :). Today I'm seeing the results of drinking enough water and am already feeling a difference.
Time to clean out the pipes and get back to quality fuel for my engine.
I went shopping this morning and picked up the ingredients for basic, yet healthy meals. I stayed AWAY from all the Easter candy calling my name. I picked up several boxes of healthy ingredient "bars" for snacks between meals and a Kashi chocolate creation that might serve well as "dessert" when I really need something sweet.
I enjoyed a nice greek yogurt with just a sprinkle of granola for breakfast and a delicious sprouted corn (organic, non-gmo) tortilla with black beans and a sprinkle of cheese for lunch. Now, time for a nutty bar and some water before chicken and salad for dinner.
I am "starving", but I know that right now that is more mental than anything else as my body demands the crap its gotten used to but isn't going to get. In a few days I'll be used to eating the right foods again and my body will be less demanding. Just gotta get through the transition period, again.
Okay, that's it for today. Time to fold laundry so I can come back and read after the kids are in bed :).
