Well we are having a lot of thunderstorms. They have been coming in waves all night long and are slowing down for a few hours. They will return tonight again heavily. It will be turning cold. Of course, I am off this comming weekend and and the temps will be in the 30s. Hubby and I have laid out the menu for the week. He will be cooking the days I work and we have it all ready for him. We have the frozen items on the front of the freezer so he can take them out and put in the frig to thaw out while he is at work. I will be cooking on Thursday and I have two new recipes to select which one I will be trying. Hubby really liked the picture of the ground beef pattie over a cheese bake bread in a onion tomato sauce. So I am sure this is the one I will be preparing. I will save the other for another day. We are on our quest not to waste food and to save on our groceries and so far it is working. Last week we went and purchased our meats for hopefully close to a month. We bought the family bubdls as they were less expensive than the smaller packages for one meals. We came home and repackaged it for meals. We label the freezer conainers with product and if packaged for a special recipe. I made a large pot of basic pasta sauce and then divided. We added Italian sausage to half for a few things. We had one pasta meal. Froze sauce , one for a pasta dinner again and one for my special lasania. Three packages of plain sauce for other recipes. I looks like we will have about seen different meals from the one pot of sauce. Well worth the effort. All meats packaged andfrozen for other meals.

    We also make a big batch of sauce and freeze in meal sized portions. This is a great time saver and always welcome in winter. Great idea and congratulations on following through with your plans.
