~INDYGIRL hits another home run

Sunday, February 24, 2013

I'm a huge fan of ~INDYGIRL. She's so honest and real and smart...I could go on.
Anyway, she posted another great blog today, so I thought I'd share it along with my response (below link).

~INDYGIRL you are wise beyond your years...

You are figuring this thing out, piece-by-piece, and you are wonderful enough to share with us, honestly and with grace and style. Today, you are my hero.

My favorite line from your post is this one -

"Problem solve with yourself, like you are talking to a child or a best friend."

That one behavior, once people get used to it, is one of the most helpful that I have found to break the cycle of bingeing and emotional overeating. I admit that it felt sort of silly at first, but I kept at it (I called it "talking myself off of the ledge") and now it comes more naturally to me and I feel I deserve this kind of treatment, as I certainly did not get it while I was growing up.

I'm with you, INDYGIRL. We CAN do this! emoticon
