Feast Or Famine

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Isn't that the way it always goes? For the last few years, the housing market has been awful. I even started an online store to try to make a living. Now, things are insane. Every offer I am writing, the properties get multiple offers. Buyers, who were taking their time to find "the deal" , are now finding that there are no properties left in their price ranges.

I have literally 18 buyers. My schedule is crazy. I was so tired yesterday that, I have to admit, I was a little relieved when JC's caretaker tole me that he may not be up to a ride. Apparently, some of the pastures were a bit icy so she put 4 of them together and one of the horses was not very nice to him. On one hand, I don't understand why she didn't remove him from the situation, but I also know him well enough to know that he taunted the other horse and couldn't figure out why the other horse got mad. JC is very much like my son. He thinks he is being funny and then when the others come back and him, he doesn't understand it lol

Instead of going to the barn yesterday, we went to dinner. I came home and soaked in the jacuzzi as my back was killing me. So, probably not the smartest thing to ride right now anyway. I think it is from the damp cold we have here.

Wednesday, I am treating myself to a manicure. I will either turn my leads off on Tuesday or Wednesday not sure which yet. I am hoping to get to see JC on Tuesday otherwise I can't get to the barn until Friday.

Oh well, I am not complaining as I am actually making a living :) Need to get my workout done before showings this afternoon :)

Sure hope your back feels better. And yes, feast or famine. Easy for me to say, but you have to try to enjoy it while you have it. So hard to reach a balance, huh? That is what I have personally been trying to reach in my life with food, work, on-line course work, treadmill. It is definitely a challenge.

As long as you can take care of yourself and not get too stressed, it will all work out. How is your assistant doing? Are you finding it helpful to have her around?

Great that your business is doing so well! I don't think houses here are moving that well. We will see after making some improvements on ours and painting the inside. We are also going to replace some floors in the kitchen, dining room and utility room plus the hall and guest bath. We are going to put laminate flooring in, that seems to be what people want. Hopefully this time, we will sell or at least get an offer! Too bad people can't see beyond the exterior looks of a home and see how well it is built structurally. This house and all the outbuildings have lasted through several tornados and wind storms during which neighbors have had their roofs torn off and outbuildings and whole barns demolished. Ours have stood firm through all of it. Had to replace some siding once and the roof once..........Hubby built this house and the outbuildings to last! emoticon

Hope you get to see JC next week, and your back is doing better!

I so totally agree about feast or famine times. Glad your work has picked up but hoping you can find a steady pace soon that gives you enough without being too much.

Sounds like you made a great choice not to ride after the incident with JC and your back acting up. I always feel more stiff/sore when the weather turns cold & damp.

Have fun!

Am happy to hear your days are so crazy, means you are making a good living. And who wants to go house hunting on a Sunday morning? Or have their house shown? You are smart to use that time for a workout!

Enjoy your manicure.
