Thought and Prayer for Sunday, February 24, 2013

Sunday, February 24, 2013

When we are doing work for God, we need to especially be careful not get to get off track by interruptions. When we allow the things of the world to interrupt us, we need to quickly focus again on God and doing His will. We have to plan head for the interruptions so when they arrive, we can use our prayers, God’s word and His power to keep us focused on using our time for Him and nothing else. We have to train for godliness and spend our time practicing our focus on God.

1 Timothy 4:8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to not only plan for interruptions but to prepare and train to focus on You when they arrive so we will continue to have a strong desire to live a godly life. What we do every day determines if we are training to live for You or if we are training to live for the world. It isn’t always easy to focus on You when there are so many interruptions in the world, but when we do focus on You, You take control and help us to focus on You. We come to You today asking that You help us plan for interruptions according to Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we plan ahead for interruptions in our lives, possibly the things and people who have interrupted us in the past, we are more able to avoid getting off track so we can continue to live for God.

Interruptions happen every day. We can plan ahead and be ready for them so we don’t waste too much time away from doing God’s will.

When we train to live for God every day, the interruptions that come up will be easier to overcome.

God wants us to live for Him every day and wants to help us plan ahead for interruptions so we can stay focused on Him and doing His will.

2 Timothy 1:9 “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
