LAUNDRY ROOM MAKEOVER!!

Sunday, February 24, 2013

This week's challenge for the LOVE YOURSELF | LOVE YOUR BODY team is to spring clean and organize your laundry room. I actually did mine before hand just in case anyone would need any ideas.
Here's my laundry room makeover..

I cleaned everything! I wiped down everything and took everything out of the cabinets and wiped down shelves.

I went through and donated all jackets and shoes that were too small. I also got a hook to hold Ally's leash and dog brush from IKEA. I also painted the door leading into the garage with left over paint I had. The door was looking pretty beat up but now it adds a pop of color! :)

I bought containers (which I LOVE!) at Walmart for $3.47 to organize everything including lightbulbs, tape, batteries, extension cords, etc. Now everything won't fall out when you open the doors! :) AND I'm not constantly searching for this kinda tape or that kinda tape or a certain kind of light bulb. I know where everything is now!! Yay! :)

I even made a dry erase board to cover an ugly old alarm electrical box. You can't see it but the corded phone is right next to it. I just used an old frame and cardboard. Hot glued buttons all over the card board and then hot glued a string and clothes pins to hold the paper to make it cute for a laundry room. Put it all under the glass so now it's a dry erase! I used command to attach it to the box.
I also had my husband put a bar I got from IKEA and attach it under the cabinets. I hung the little buckets up to hold clothes pins and such and a basket to hold dryer sheets and the little fake flower I also got from IKEA.
All together the makeover cost between $50-$60. And was well worth it!!! I can't tell you how good it feels to not have the dryer top filled with stuff that I can now fit into the cabinets!!!
