...but the weather is gorgeous.
I spent the afternoon in the garden spreading compost on my newly excavated flower beds and transplanting irises onto the stony banks under the trees. It was sunny all day, too hot to work in the sun but I was in dappled shade. There was a real din from the birds and my chickens came down to help with the compost. I cleared out a whole bin, quite a lot of compost to shift. While I did that we had a fire to burn our prunings.
What a great day. I am really beginning to see a difference in the garden and the season is just starting to turn, slightly cooler in the evenings, so perfect planting weather.
Now my back is aching, but so worthwhile.
