Breaking Bread Without Breaking My Eating Plan

Today, I decided to take a day off from exercise. I felt stiff when I woke up for some reason and I knew my body was talking. I decided to listen and give it a well deserved rest. I decided to spend the whole day with my husband and his family.

First, hubby and I went to an auction. I love to go to auctions and hadn't been to one in a long time. After the auction, we stopped for a snack of a garden salad and iced tea. We were listening to the music playing in the background and made a game of identifying the artists who preformed the different songs. It was fun and we got other diners at nearby tables involved too.

Later, we went to see family who were visiting from out of town. My SIL made a lasagna dinner and we sat down to eat around 2:30p.m. Hubby's family are basically meat, potatoes/pasta and (sometimes) salad eaters. My family are basically protein, veggie and fruit eaters. Since my SIL made a huge salad and not many guests ate much, I decided to skip the main course and just have salad. I ate 3 helpings and it was delicious! I had to eat my lean protein when we got home, along with my fat free dairy, but that was okay. She was happy that no salad was left and I was happy to be able to break bread with our family without breaking my eating plan.

Overall, I did well and stayed within my range today and on plan. It was a successful day all around!
