Yeah, sorry about the tizzy fit yesterday. I'm reeeeeeally not sleeping well this week AND it's TOM. What an excellent mix.
Thankfully I didn't let my exhaustion stop me getting up and going for Parkrun this morning. If I had I would have missed out on beating my best time by 98 seconds and completely smashing 37 minutes! What a different mood I'm in compared to last week!
This miraculous result was partly from using my new 5K to 10K podcast. the C25K ones were good, but it bugged me that I couldn't go fast (or sometimes slow) enough to run in time to the music, but the whole point of these ones is to run in time so you can work on your speed. And it definitely makes me go faster.
Then there was the fact that this one girl kept overtaking me. Seriously, we must have leapfrogged each other at least 10 times. But she didn't seem to understand that putting on a burst of speed to overtake me was never going to work if she couldn't keep it up (which she couldn't) because I was running constantly so every time she started walking to recover I just passed her again. But to give her credit she was right behind me when we got to the last few hundred metres, and it was because I could hear her behind me that I really pushed myself the last 30 strides to make sure she didn't overtake me again.
I felt sick afterwards. But the point is I did awesome, I finished before this girl, I was nowhere near last, and I BEAT 37 MINUTES!!
