I've always been a "hard times" girl (being the child, of a child, of the depression.) I'm very frugal and I hate to spend money on myself. For a long time I have been telling myself that I should hold on to my clothes that are too big for me because I might need them again someday - if I gain the weight back. Upon further introspection, I have come to realize that thinking this way is not being frugal...it's self-defeating. If I have enough confidence in myself to lose the weight, and keep it off, then there would be no reason to keep the clothes, right?!
My dear husband pointed out to me that there were many women who could use my clothes now, instead of me saving them for "hard times" and I agree. So I decided this morning that I am not going to wait for spring cleaning - I'm going to clean out my closets today. I encourage others, who might be struggling with the same issue, to join me in this venture.
