Sherlock is watching the snow out my back door. I took him to my vet this week. He still has a tapeworm so he got medication to treat it. However his weight has improved. He was 4.14 lbs and is now 6.8 lbs. I figure somewhere around 8 lbs is probably his normal weight. Between his injuries, dehydration, starving and illness he has come a long way. He is healing. Apparently his tail was either chopped or ripped off at the tip. That explains his broken tail. His bald spots are re-growing hair as well. I am amazed with all this little guy has been through; yet he has such a sweet manor.
I have lost 1/2 lb this week. Not much but I am eating what I "really crave" and staying away from sugar, high fructose, artificial "anything" and taking my vitamins and using my herbs to add flavor instead of salt as much as possible.
Lugging wood is my main exercise but I also have used my tread mill and yoga and of course housework.
This winter until this week I have been able to keep my grocery bill under $30 each week. But they had Alaskan Salmon on sale so I stocked up. I have been cooking more from scratch since retired. I enjoy cooking and it is healthier and more cost effective. I plan to cook Coq au vin (French dish: chicken cooked in wine) for our Sunday dinner. Last week I made homemade Oven beef burgundy stew and corn bread.
Have a great weekend everyone!
