"Be the best version of you. Right here, right now." - Dolvett Quince
The first time I heard this I was sweating like crazy and trying to keep up with interval drills. The second time I heard this I was sweating like crazy and doing a better job keeping up. The third time I heard this I was sweating like crazy and thinking "I got this!". This is when it hit me.
Be the best version of you. Right here, right now. Do the best you can at this moment. Each day, each workout, each meal, each moment - our best varies. But if we do the best we can at that particular moment, we are being the best version of ourselves.
I'm no longer going to think "I could have done better" or wonder why my workout was harder this time versus the last time. I'm definitely not going to think that "20 minutes isn't enough so why bother?" So many things contribute to the moment - How did I sleep? Did I feed my body well? Am I stressed? Is there something on my mind? Was it just a crazy, busy day? Am I just not feeling it?
I just have to do it and remember to give it my best at that moment and accept that my best will vary but is always worth it and always amazing. It's the best version of me. Right here, right now.
