Springing into Action!
Friday, February 22, 2013
So the first challenge for Springing into Action is to write a little something in your blog which is perfect because I’d just been thinking how much I enjoy reading other people’s blogs and how mine has been left languishing since last year.
I’m 28, live in South London and have a job that I hate. I’m also a part-time student with the Open University which is a distance learning programme that means you need to be fairly disciplined about study. I’m currently ploughing my way through Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting because I thought it would be useful for work when I signed up but then the work situation changed and it is now not massively useful and I’m finding it ridiculously hard which is slightly annoying.
At the moment I work out by using DVDs or workouts on Sparkpeople or youtube. There’s a surprisingly good selection on youtube! I really like kickboxing workouts and although I found Chalene Johnson annoying at the start I’ve really warmed to her. I cringed at first when she’d say ‘This is going to be the highlight of your day’ but now I find it often is!
I really want to lose the weight before I turn 30 next year. It’s taken me a really long time to feel like I’m getting where I want to be in my life (long story shortened, left Uni at 19 drifted in and out of various unfulfilling jobs thereafter, had issues with depression and alcohol but have been in the same job for almost 4 years and am over 2.5 years sober now) and since starting with Sparkpeople it actually feels like an overlooked piece of the puzzle has fallen into place. I’ve finally started to realise that I am a whole person and that means I have to look after my physical self and health as well as my mental and spiritual sides.
I have next week off so I’m looking forward to catching up with a few friends, getting at least another chapter of my Bookkeeping course out of the way, getting back into my meditation routine and picking up 30 Day Shred. Oh and getting my haircut- you have to treat yourself every now and then!
Oh and finally for the bonus challenge:
Body fat: 46.29%
Lbs/Kgs of Body Fat: 85.64
Lean Body Weight: 99.36
