A day wasted

We got hit yesterday with almost 12 inches of snow. Some areas got 14 inches. They were advising everyone to stay home because travel would be difficult. Being as I live 20 miles away from my job, I took that advice and stayed home. I was the only one out of my office, except for my manager, who did. It stopped snowing in the early evening, and with the ice trucks out all night clearing snow, I figured it would be OK to head into the office this morning, as long as I was careful and left extra early. So, I left the house at about 5:30 this morning. It took me an hour to get to work. When I got there and was parking, I get a call on my cell phone. It's work calling to let me know that the office would be closed today. Wonderful. They couldn't call me an hour before! So I head home, getting stuck on one road, but luckily I was able to get out. I ended up spending the day with my grandkids, since their school was cancelled for the second day in a row.
I really could have done some things with them, besides letting them watch TV, although they did go outside a few times to play in the snow. I just ended up being lazy and not wanting to do anything. I could have gone to the gym this morning, but didn't letting my daughter sleep since she didn't sleep at all last night, and today is her birthday. I basically wasted a day. I'm not going to waste tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day, and I'm going to take full advantage of it.
