Now the scale is INSANE!

Friday, February 22, 2013

Wow, did I get a surprise this morning. I did my usual in preparation for my weigh in. (I always wear the same thing.) I step on it and off three times to "reset it," otherwise my old weight often comes up again. I've changed the batteries, but it still does it sometimes. Anyway, I stepped on and.....I lost 2.6 lbs! Talk about surprised!

No, I'm not trying to lose anymore! I will start eating at the higher end of my calorie range, but I am happy! I'm starting to see triceps which isn't easy with the "chicken wings" that my mother and grandma gave me. emoticon My legs look slimmer and my abs seem firmer. emoticon

I did realize, though, I need to work out earlier in the evening. I've been having trouble getting tired enough to go to bed the past couple of nights. (It may be that I knew we had another snow day.) So we'll try working out as soon as I get home or at that time when I'm not working!

I NEVER thought I'd be one of those "workout obsessed" people, but I am turning into one and I like it! Ok, ok, I like the results not necessarily the work out! emoticon

Remember that your body will vary in weight according to a number of things. Knowing this will help one not to over obsess when they've varied. I had to grasp that and now take the good and the bad in stride, especially as I've been maintaining for over 92 weeks! Stay strong and focused! You know the drill!

Great news!! Isn't it a good feeling when all of a sudden things start to kick in!?
Scale problems seem to be a "problem" of late. So many people I chat with mention their scale does this or it's not in-sync with the one at the doctor. etc etc.
Mine gives me a fifferent reading depending on where I am. In the bath or the hallway or the kitchedn etc. etc. It's one thing to be off but another to be waaaaaaay off. Maybe i'll pick up one thats not digital. Thats an idea!!
Have good week-end and be proud of what you've done!!

Did you weigh on the hardwood floors this time? I think that is so smart to wear the same thing each weigh in. I do the same thing except I wear my birthday suit! emoticon And I like to weigh in after showering. I think a part of me thinks I can wash away any extra ounces.

Wow, I don't feel so unique any more. LOL My husband does most of the laundry and even he knows to have my grey sweatpants(actual I stole them from my son when I outgrew my clothes) and my blue sweatshirt with the Olympic symbol clean for Monday mornings. I go to work and weigh in before I eat my lunch and as close to noon as possible. If I am at the desk, my boss will usually cover for me. I go to the workout room and use the scale there. I leave my work boots on. It is just like the one at the doctors office. I also weigh myself 3 times just to be sure though. It is a good scale. Once in a while the balance will stick just a tad. Some people think I am funny for being so goofy about it. I am so glad to hear you lost weight like you wanted to! With your exercise routine you may find you can take your calories up even more!!!!!

First, congratulations on the unexpected weight loss. My scale must be one of the stablest on the market. The only time I'll get a different reading is if the battery is about to be "low."

Many, many years ago I bought a retail version of a Dr's scale. I think it was from a drugstore. I never have had those problems of not knowing where the weight should stop. It seems to be very accurate. Glenn

It's fun to get the go ahead to increase the intake a little bit. Me, I'd welcome a few lost pounds! Haha! I'm just starting a streak of doing more ST per week, that's my weak point, and I hope to eliminate my chicken wings, too!

My scale in insane too! It takes about 3 seconds to get a reading and if I get back on it my weight will likely change. It's like the scale starts at zero then starts counting up and whatever number it ends on at the end of 3 seconds is your weight. So I get on and off several times and my number will go up a pound or two, then come down half a pound or go up even more! Last time I got on it ten times over a couple of minutes and received 3 different weights. That was two weeks ago and I haven't been on it since. It's time for a new one. I don't trust it. Stupid scale.
