So happy today!

Friday, February 22, 2013

Yesterday I ate light but ate greek yogurt, banana and almonds....a favorite of mine for dinner. According to The Plan all three of these could be reactive foods but I love them. So I ate according to the plan all day until dinner and had those three things mixed for dinner. Remember, I had weighed in up 1.5 pounds yesterday, I think because of sweet potato, beer, and Newman's dressing. So this morning I was down a pound so 109 which puts me under goal again. I am just so happy that the one pound was gone as I really didn't want to cut greek yogurt out of my diet. So woo hoo! It's those small things that mean a lot. Like I have mentioned before, I am most interested in eating right for my arthritis and to feel on top of my game. Yesterday we even went to a cocktail party and I started off having a Negro Modelo (my favorite beer). I was only going to have one but funny thing, I took a sip and it just didn't taste good so I said...forget it and didn't drink it. I think when I eat so many beets and broccoli it changes my taste buds....oh plus yesterday I found some dandelion tea which The Plan recommends and I had a cup of that before the party.....maybe that changed my taste buds. And because I had my Plan lunch before going to the cocktail party I wasn't hungry so didn't eat at the party. Today I feel great though and we are going to The Annual Chili Festival here in Ajijic. It's a good time with lots of artists and all kinds of booths to visit and competitions for chili, salsa and margarita. Today is the margarita competition and our friend got second place last year so this year we are going to go and support him and see if he can't win 1sr place! but I know I won't be tasting too many margaritas! It's a beautiful day as always so should be a fun day!
I hope all my sparks buddies have a great day.
Sallie

Glad your weight is where you want it again! I have found sweet potato is definitely reactive for me. And white potatoes . . . well, just to many carbs, so guess it's no potatoes for me! That's all right though.

HUGS and have a good weekend.

I'm glad you are putting how you feel first and the scale second. (I know that when the numbers on the scale are where I want them, I feel good. I also know that we are not defined by the scale.)

Oh, I'd love to help with the margarita contest. I'd be more than happy to be a judge or at least a taste tester!! I'm not much of a beer drinker and I don't drink margaritas like I used to because of the calories, but I do love them!!

Have an emoticon time and wonderful day!!

Way to stick with it. If your favorite beer starts tasting bad, who knows what will be next? Have fun at the chili festival. emoticon

Interesting on the beer not tasting good anymore. I had the same happen with shrimp. Once I knew it cause my gain, I didn't even like the smell of them anymore! I think the brain needs to register the fact first and then the rest follows..
So glad you did well on your favorite greek yoghurt.

I love the dandelion tea but unfortunately after my first box the store ran out and has trouble resupplying.
Have fun at the chili festival!!

What a happy blog to read. BTW, I have just started drinking 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tbp of honey in a class of hot water in the morning and evening. It is supposed to reduce inflammation and I can already see a difference in my yoga practice.

That's great, Sallie! So glad you don't have to cut out Greek yogurt. Giving up tomatoes would be awful, but almonds, bananas and Greek yogurt - well that would be a major sacrifice. Congrats for being a pound under goal. I'm trying to be patient and lose the 1.6 pounds I need to get to goal and then 2 more. It will happen! Thanks for leading the way!!

Yay! Glad you don't have to cut out greek yogurt! And wooohooooo to being one pound under!!!! So cool you really focused on the flavor and decided not to drink it after realizing you were not enjoying it. That is awesome. Have fun today : )! I will absolutely have a good day today Sallie! I am determined to make it a good one ; )
