Fantastic Friday

How time flies when you're having fun. My enthusiasm seems to be on the wane. I usually exercise 6x a week but so far I've done 2. I am planning to do today and Sunday. The reason why i missed 2 so far this week was because Monday - I was tired and Wednesday - I have no excuse.
Yesterday, I had a binge. I brought home the large bag of Cheetos and ate 3 servings of it and polished off a bottle of sparkling apple juice. So that sent my calorie range over the top big time.
I am meeting a girlfriend who is in town for a mutual friend's mother's funeral (in other words a friend of ours mother died). She immediately suggested we go for lunch. I always tell her, you need to be inviting me to go for a walk. Anyway, I countered her suggestion that I want to go and get an orchid for our bereaving friend. I know nothing about plants. So, we agreed to that but i know I could be facing a challenge foodwise. I am thinking that I'll tell her I have to go back to work so I don't have time to lunch out. So that is my lunch time challenge.

In the evening another friend of mine invited me to something for Parkinson disease. I did not get the details except the dress code but I believe food will be involved. So there are 3 challenges here 1. I have a schedule exercise 2. I won't be able to avoid the food situation 3. I need to arrange for transport for my son from soccer. #3 tends to create a stressful situation since either I go to the function late or leave early (this one is not really an option). I am fearing that I will not be able to exercise because I may not leave work on time or I feel pressed to get ready to go to the function. Either one of them won't avoid the fact that there'll be food at the function. So, if I exercise I will be leaving the gym and going straight to the function. If I don't go to the gym, I can eat something before I go to the function.

The lunch challenge i have more confidence that I can handle. The dinner challenge I am not so confident. I am more uncomfortable with the latter because I find socializing arduous. But that's another rant for another occasion.

The Plan:
- Meet friend and go orchid shopping
- Return to work and eat packed lunch
- Leave work and go to the gym
- Leave gym and meet other friend for social
- Stand far from food table
- One drink
- be last to get food
- talk ( emoticon ) - make chit chat a lot of it
- exercise willpower/control (it's not your last supper)
- leave as soon as possible emoticon

    Just do your best and don't be so hard on yourself. You will have so harder days. But you will get thru them. emoticon
