I realized today that there were 3 things that conspired to causing me to have huge comfort food cravings today and then - to my giving in!
1. I was cold all day -
2. I was tired all day -
3. I was unprepared for my lunch and snacks, so I was hungry all day -
[I know...that was terrible, hu?...made you smile tho?...me, too!]
Now - I have known that stress always triggers cravings for me, but these three I really had not identified so clearly.
SO - I have three new strategies!!
1. Get nice and warm at the beginning of the day and layer to stay cozy!!
2. TURN IN EARLY!!
[now I really like that thought!]
3. Think ahead about lunch - like the night before - and be sure to pack plenty! Today I skimped on fixing enough lunch and healthy snacks and, boy did I ever pay for that mistake...So I gotta plan ahead better -
OK - there you have it - the lessons I learned today - warmth throughout the day - plenty of rest the night before - and a reasonable, generous amount of food packed for the work day [including an after work snack so fast food does not grab me like it did today -- I was soooo hungry!]
Tomorrow's another day - and a new chance to hit my food tracking goals.
