The past month Thursdays have been my "danger" days. After being careful about eating and exercising Monday through Wednesday, I hit Thursdays and wham! That's because I usually substitute teach a full day on Thursdays and it's stressful. And I get up earlier than usual to be at school on time so the dog gets a short walk. And I come home tired and all I want to do is play on the computer. Until I go to my night class (Spanish) and then I come home dead tired at 9:00 p.m.
Anyway, today was NOT like that even though I DID work a full day, I DID have to be at school early and it WAS stressful. Strategies I followed: I prepared for today last night. I packed healthy snacks. I made sure I had my clothes out, took my shower last night and set my alarm for an hour early so the dog could get a half hour walk. After work, I came home and had another healthy snack instead of heading to the store for chocolate (I had Dr Kracker crackers and hummus). Then I ate a yummy steak salad with black beans and fresh tomato salsa, some cheese, romaine lettuce and went off to Spanish class. I had 8000 steps when I got home at 9:00 so I put a Leslie Sansone "evening walk" into the DVD player and walked for 20 minutes. Bingo, 10000 steps.
