Those Agro-Americans Are Growing Strong

Friday, February 22, 2013

Yesterday I joked about the attempt to Rename the Aggies of Texas A&M University as the Agro-Americans, but I didn't mention their real life devotion to all things agricultural.

Aggie Replant is one of those things, a student organization dedicated to planting trees, originally those burned in the Aggie annual bonfire, but this year they've focussed instead on the wildfire devastated Bastrop State Park area, ravaged just a couple years ago.

The 30,000 seedlings they're planting will go a long way to reforesting the natural beauty of that area...

    So cool.

We visited Bastrop in 1991. I hadn't realized it had burned. Good for the Aggies for pitching in.

    "Agro-Americans"

I love word play!! That is amusing.

Wouldn't it be "Agri-Americans"?? I guess in a southern drawl that might be interpreted as "Angry Americans."

At any rate, Cheers to planting trees and keep....
