Hello I have been living in the bush for over 10yrs now. Most of the time it is heaven unless
you want a new bra or undies even shoes and good old internet or a trip to the smoke which is 600kms to Mt. Isa or 900 to Cairns that is one way.
I have had for sometime now medical issues which I will not bore you with. In the last couple of weeks I have had to go to Cairns hospital twice in two wks. Easy I heard you say. Well the first time the doc was not there to see me and no one else would make any treatment available to me except what I have had done before.
Well they called me to go again this wk (my hubby is my carer so he has to come to) we left home at 9am drove to the airport which is in next town 70kms one way. Stopped off for coffee
with our friends and left the car with them. Checked in at 12.20pm the plane flew around the
airport and did not land. We then found out there was a problem with the plane and it was dirverted to Cairns (without picking us up) The staff (two men) came and told us that they are
going to send another plane from Cairns for us. The problem is it would not arrive until 5.50pm. They then drove us to our friends again where we spent a nice afternoon with them.
So back to the airport we go and was given a large whole pizza each ( I have not eaten pizza for over 40yrs just not a lover) and they expected me to eat a whole one alone. I ate 2 and a half slices and thought I did well. Handed cold drinks and at 6.20pm the plane landed and picked us up. However, it then had to fly to Mt. Isa first which is the opposite direction from Cairns. We arrived in Cairns at 10.10pm tired.
Went to the hospital next day and had my back blockage completed and great I thought walking, bike riding playing Wii. Then I was told no no no deliberate excise eg bike riding walking Wii etc only accidental exercise for 2wks I wonder if I could accidently ride my bike.
Food for thought pardon the pun.
Lastly we have not been flooded in YET maybe this will be the first year in 10yrs the road does not get cut.
Keep smiling it makes other people wonder what you have been up to.
I am back home again with the next medical trip due mid March (oh, I will be able to get a new bra then)
I am back on my feet again and thats a good thing.
Take care. Sylvia
