Call me slug

Thursday, February 21, 2013

I'm having a lazy week. Well, kind of. I mean, I made it to the gym Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. I meant to go this afternoon, but then had to wait by the phone for a call (or by my laptop for a document, but that's much less Hollywood), which didn't end up coming until 4:30 or so. And then I was hungry, and then I shouldn't exercise because my stomach will blow up if you play after eating, and then I got lazy. May or may not hop on the exercise bike later, leaning towards "not" at the moment, as I'm sitting on the floor next to the bed and wondering why not just jump in and snooze?

Tomorrow, surely, I'll wend my way gymward. Surely. Unless I need to wait for another call, of course. You'll have to excuse the crypticness (crypticity? Crypticality?). Maybe a story to tell next week, but no chickens are being counted, nor would they be counted if they existed. Whole different flock of chickens from yesterday blog comment, at any rate.

I set my laptop up on a shelf so I can walk on the treadmill and type at the same time. Honestly, how does one get through their am email without it?

I'm a nerd, yes, why do you ask?

PS. I kid now, but I wish I could tell you I didn't used to have a job where I felt the need to do that: rise, shine, hit the treadmill, read email, think about email in shower, respond via cell phone on the way to work. Was never so happy to get laid off in my life. If you choose to take a day off, do it - wallow in it - rest up and hit the gym when you're ready!

Hey! I just found you making your way across my kitchen floor not 10 minutes ago! No, seriously. I really did find a slug in our kitchen. Now that I think about it, it's the first one I ever saw inside our house. Your welcome by the way that I didn't alert the dog to your whereabouts. While the sight of most creepy crawly things usually sends me fleeing silently from the room, I'm proud that I was able to 'keep my cool' in this case and lift you to the relative safety and security of a paper plate. After all, you were a slug, I wasn't expecting any sudden movements to startle me.

You should have spoken up and introduced yourself - maybe then I wouldn't have tossed you out the front door. Sorry that I was too lazy to put my shoes on and walk you out to a more habitable environment. I did try and aim for a soft grassy landing though... sooo... good intentions and all.
