So tired of migraines

Thursday, February 21, 2013

I am so frustrated and tired of migraines. I was told by the doctors I'm likely on a 10 year cycle (coinciding with menopause........woohooo! What a great combo platter that is!) and honestly at this point, I'm not sure what year I'm in....5....6. In any event, I get migraines every other week (whether I need them or not) for 3 days per migraine. I take fiorinal for them. I've tried other meds, but don't react well.

During a migraine, it's difficult at best to exercise and stay on track. By the time I get through the migraine, by diet is blown and I'm off track again.

This week, I did do some damage control and I'm getting back on that horse. If anyone out there has brilliant ideas on how to better cope, please feel free to contact respond.......

I guess for now....time to get my chin up and keep going.....

I'm sorry to hear you have migraines. They can make life a living Hell. Might I suggest some non-medication help aids? I am not a doctor but I suggest things that have worked for myself and friends. Chiropractic has worked for myself and a few others I know. There is also acupuncture and hypnosis. S simple cold pack can provide relief in some instances.

I just talked to a couple of friends of mine who have extensive knowledge in alternative medicine and the have suggested some web sites for you to check out. Again, none of us are doctors but have training and experience outside normal medical channels that work for some people.

Menopause is just so much fun! It is great that you are addressing physical needs before your body completely changes. The more you do to stay on track now the smoother those years will be later. So hang tough, today is the beginning of a better tomorrow.

Wow, I have them too but not nearly as intense as what you're describing. Mine are mostly weather related. I have no good advice, just hope you're feeling better before 5-10 years!
